For your home

Buying a floor for your own home? Start here.

No jargon, no catalogue maze. These are the questions people actually ask before choosing a floor for an apartment or a house — answered straight. The deeper detail is all on the site; this page is the short road.

How long does the installation take?

Faster than tiling. The planks lock to each other with a glueless click and float over the base — no adhesive, no drying days — and in many cases they go straight over the existing floor, so there is no demolition. The exact schedule for your home comes with the quote.

Kids, pets, chairs — will it hold up?

That is what it is built for. The wear layer is commercial-grade: shoes, chairs, pets and children’s games are its normal day. No floor is immune to every scratch, so felt pads under furniture legs and a doormat at the entry do the long-term work — and the matte surface hides fine marks and dust far better than a glossy floor.

Water and daily floor-washing — the Israeli question?

It is water-resistant for everyday use — spills, damp mopping and the normal water of a lived-in home are no problem, and the rigid core does not swell the way a wood-based floor would. It is not a waterproofing system and not a flood-proof claim: do not leave standing water along joints and edges, and remove free water promptly. For daily cleaning, a well-wrung mop is exactly what it is built for.

How do I clean it?

Sweep or vacuum to lift grit, then go over it with a well-wrung damp mop. No wax, no polish, no steam. The matte surface asks for very little.

We have underfloor heating — does it work?

Yes. Every CARETTA model is compatible with underfloor heating and stays dimensionally stable across the normal temperature range. Keep the surface temperature within the limit given in the technical documentation and warm the system up gradually.

Do we have to rip out the existing tile?

In many cases, no. Because the floor floats and clicks together, it can be laid over a sound, level existing floor — including tile — as long as the surface is clean, flat within tolerance, and the grout lines are not deep enough to show through. A thin levelling layer solves an uneven base.

How do I choose a colour I won’t regret?

Start from the light of your room, not from a small swatch: warmer floors give sunlight back as honey, cooler-neutral floors keep a room calm. Move by feeling through the worlds or the collection — and check the colour against the measured reference published on each model page, not against a screen guess.

What does it cost?

There is no public price list — not as a sales game, but because a floor is priced from its specification: the model, the area, the condition of the existing base, and whether you want installation arranged too. Send us the rooms and their approximate area, and a person — not an autoresponder — replies with a quote itemised line by line, including the warranty terms in writing.
