CARETTA

Privacy

How we handle your information.

Plainly, and only as much as we need to answer you. Everything described here is what the site actually does — nothing is sold, and no one outside CARETTA sees it.

What we collect

Two things, different in kind. The first is what you type: when you use the enquiry form we receive your name, practice or company, email, phone, the model and area of interest, and any project notes. The second is what the site keeps on its own — an anonymous visitor identifier and the pages it was seen on. No name is attached to it. We do not know who you are until you tell us.

The visitor identifier

Choosing a floor takes weeks. People return three or four times — once from a phone, later from a desk — and a site that forgets between visits loses the shortlist, loses the model they kept coming back to, and starts the conversation from zero.

So the site stores one random identifier in your browser (caretta:vid): a string generated on your device, tied to no person. Beside it we record which pages were viewed, how long a model page held attention, and which requests the page offered. Names, emails, phone numbers and free text never travel with it — the code strips those fields before anything is sent, by rule rather than by promise.

Its purpose is stated and narrow: continuity across a long decision. It is not advertising, and it is not used to follow you anywhere else.

Cookies, and who else is in the room

No cookies — none for tracking, none for advertising, none at all. No analytics provider, no advertising network, no social pixel, no third-party script of any kind runs on this site. Nothing is handed to anyone for remarketing, and nothing is ever sold or rented. Events go to one endpoint, ours. That is the plain reason we can be this specific: there is no one else in the room.

What never leaves your browser

Your shortlist (caretta_shortlist_v1) and the panels you have dismissed are held on your device and are never sent to us. The queue of pending events (caretta:evq) waits there until it is delivered, then clears. The session identifier disappears when you close the tab.

Why we use it

The enquiry: to answer it — a quotation, the technical dossier, and following up about your project. The visit record: to understand which models draw attention, and so that a decision made over weeks is not restarted every time you come back. Nothing else.

Where it goes

Your enquiry is recorded in our internal CRM so a specifier can reply and nothing is lost. It is shared only with our team, for that purpose. We never sell or rent it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries: as long as needed to handle them and any resulting project, and a reasonable period after for our records. Visit records: twenty-four months. After that they are aggregated — the identifier is dropped and only counts remain, which say which models drew attention and nothing about a person.

Your rights, and two switches

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold. Write to niv@carettasurfaces.com, or use the contact form and say so in the notes. It is handled by us directly.

Two things need no request at all — they work on this device, now:
